Director's Message

Spring is finally here! (Or is it?)

Spring may finally be here. (Hooray!) You'll want to visit the Library to check out the latest in garden books, magazines, and various hiking guides that were recently purchased. And for those days that just don't feel spring-like, how about a good-old-fashioned novel? Whether your taste runs to murder mysteries, thrillers, historical novels, or classical literature, we probably have something that will make for good reading on a cold, rainy day. Be sure to check out the shelves of recently added books behind the circulation desk. There is lots of nonfiction available too!

Children's/Teens' Programs:

Did you know that we have a new weekly Storytime & More that meets every Tuesday evening at 6:00pm? Join Esther for stories, songs, crafts, and snacks! (Birth-5 years old). The other Storytime & More group continues to meet on Thursday mornings at 10:00am.

The SS Reading Club will wrap up its annual world tour with a stop in Latin America on Saturday, May 10th. This program is appropriate for all elementary grades and features a special guest, cultural information, and a taste of international cuisine.

READ with Sugar. Bring your reluctant (or avid) reader to spend time with beautiful Sugar, a specially trained Rottweiler. Sugar loves to have kids read to her! Sugar's next visit is Saturday, April 19 at 10:00am.

Our next Teen Night will be in May. Watch for more information.

For Grown-ups:

Coffee & Books is a flexible, friendly group of book lovers who get together weekly (Tuesdays at 10:00am) to talk about what each person is reading that week. You're welcome to come every week, or just when it's convenient for you.

Excursions - Saturday, May 10 will be the trip to the Japanese Garden in Portland. Call for additional information.

This month the popular Travelogue continued with Alan Curtis sharing his travels to the South of Brazil. Look for upcoming travelogues. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Creswell Library.

Interested in genealogy? We have a Genealogy Group that meets at the Library the first Wednesday of each month, at 10:00. The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 7.

See you at the library!

~Su Ikeda, Library Director
